Alice Mary Amos was probably born as well as raised at Creeksea Ferry on Wallasea Island in Essex. She was baptized at St. Nicholas, Canewdon, Essex, on 12 May 1889.[1]
At the time of the 1911 census, Alice was residing at the Old Ship Hotel in Rochford, where she worked as a barmaid.[4]
