Henry Amos 1835 - 1907 [2] and married Hannah Gifford.[3]
Eliza Ann Amos b 1837
In the 1841 census, John is listed as born in Iron Acton and living in Latteridge and is 30yrs old. Rachel and William are both listed as 10yrs old, Henry as 5yrs and Eliza as 3yrs.[4] His wife Ann is not listed in this census but it seems his daughter, Susanna, is living with another family in the household of George Boulton on Sadbury Road in Iron Acton.[5].
The 1851 census lists John as around 50yrs old, born in Iron Acton and living in Latteridge working as an agricultural labourer. In his household are his wife, Ann (50yrs old, born in Berkeley, Gloucestershire) and also son Henry (19yrs, cordwinder), daughter Eliza (13yrs) and grandson John (4yrs) - all born in Iron Acton. [6] His daughter, Rachel (15yrs) is working as a servant in the household of James and Harriet Tles in Wapley & Codrington, Gloucestershire.[7]
The 1861 census lists all the details as the same, however his household is now only his wife Ann and his 14yr old grandson John, who is working as an agricultural labourer. [8]
The 1871 census lists all the details as the same again, including his 24yr old grandson John, who still lives with them and works as an agricultural labourer. [9]
John died in 1876 (Oct-Nov-Dec period) in the Chipping Sodbury district of Gloucestershire, England.[10]
His wife Ann died in 1878 (Jan-Feb-Mar period) in the Chipping Sodbury district of Gloucestershire, England.[11]

I am following a few members of the Amos family. In verifying names and sources, I have found that John Amos married Ann Long, spinster, on 11 May 1822 in Stone, parish of Berkley, Gloucestershire. Of their child born after registration began in 1837, Eliza Amos born 1837, she is registered with the surname Long. Unable to find a record of a marriage to Ann Guy.
