Biography

At the time of Miles MacMillan Wasson's death, she had two children and was pregnant for a third. The third child was Tessie Miles Wasson, born 13 Feb 1877, in Blissfield, Northumberland Co, New Brunswick, Canada.

Miles MacMillan Wasson died at age 32 on 3 Dec 1876. 1876-32 = 1844 for his approx birth year.

I would guess that his wife, Sarah Amos, was about 20 at marriage.1869-20=1849 for her approx birth year.

They married in Blissfield, at R.B Wasson's residence. (The residence of the father of Miles.)

R B Wasson had a land grant of 100 acres in Blissfield. I would guess that Miles grew up there, since that's where he married.

I would imagine that Sarah Amos would have stayed there, at least for some time, following her husband's death, considering that her daughter Tessie was born there. Likely to be the Blissfield Baptist Church Cemetery

From: https://www.ancestry.ca/boards/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=416&p=surnames.wasson "1,3,7,13)Miles Mcmillan Wasson b. 25 Sept 1845, N.B. d. 3 Dec 1876, Blissfield, N.B. m. , to Sarah Amos(4 Feb 1846-29 Jan 1931, after divorce she remarried to James Fowler)"

I would assume that this was meant to be "after the death of Miles McMillan Wasson, she remarried to James Fowler."

I was able to verify that marriage information.

"Provincial Archives of New Brunswick Daniel F Johnson's New Brunswick Newspaper Vital Statistics Daniel F. Johnson : Volume 56 Number 1152

info The language of the text is the original used in the newspaper entry and as transcribed by Daniel F. Johnson. Records acquired by the Provincial Archives are not translated from the language in which they originate.

m. Baptist Parsonage, Blissfield (North. Co.) 25th July, by Rev. M. Edwards, James FOWLER, Esq. / Mrs. Sarah WASSON, all of Blissfield."

In other words, Sarah Wasson married James Fowler on 25 July 1881.

I did find this, http://archives.gnb.ca/Search/NewspaperVitalStats/Details.aspx?culture=en-CA&guid=1A831906-D403-4363-997B-FED3B6557AA2 but I don't know for sure if it's a child of Miles McMillan Wasson, or if it was a relative of his, or just a friend of theirs. This could have been a step-child of James Fowler, and that may have been why he had a wedding at his residence.

m. At residence of James FOWLER, Esq., 15th inst., by Rev. M.P. King, Frank Bliss BARTLETT, Sunbury Co. / Annie WASSON, Northumberland Co."

I found this:

http://archives.gnb.ca/Search/VISSE/141B7.aspx?culture=en-CA&guid=23fad6f6-fe14-4cb0-8141-7b5a152b58f4 which basically authenticates the above information.

Provincial Archives of New Brunswick Vital Statistics from Government Records Index to New Brunswick Marriages Name BARTLETT, FRANK B. Married WASSON, ANNIE A. Date 1896-04-15 County NORTHUMBERLAND Parish ---- Number 1094 Code B4/1896 Microfilm F15579

It doesn't list her parents' names, unfortunately. That field was left blank, HOWEVER, it did give her age. She was 22 yrs old at the time of the marriage, which was in 1896. 1896-22=1874 for her approx year of birth, which is just 2 years before Miles McMillan Wasson died. I suspect that this was a child of Sarah Amos and Miles McMillan Wasson, and step-daughter of James Fowler.

I also found this, which, although spelled wrong for Fowler (Foular is written), does give the middle name of the groom.

http://archives.gnb.ca/Search/NewspaperVitalStats/Details.aspx?culture=en-CA&guid=4A3816C5-CB8B-4867-A7C4-C6A80213AD88 says:

This isn't the same Annie Wasson, I'd presume:

The people above are likely the parents of the babies below.
