Biography

OBIT: Chillicothe Paper Leonard Amos, one of Chillicothe's highly esteemed citizens, a man of high integrity and noble character, gentle refined, kind hearted and charitable, a real Christian gentleman, passed away at his home 175 N. Hickory St. at 10 am January 2, 1922 after 8 weeks illness of a complication of diseases. He was born in this city April 17, 1849 to Philip and Eva (Bangeston) Amos and has been a resident here all of his life following the calling of tailor. He is survived by a daughter Mrs. James Liddy of Columbus; a son John Amos of this city; a sister Mrs. Andrew Seiller of Columbus; and 3 grandchildren. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church, of Logan Tribe No. 9, Improved Order of Red Men and of the degree of Pocahontas. The funeral will be held from the residence at 2 pm Wednesday, Rev. Roth officiating. Interment in Grandview.
