Tuesday, December 14, 1943 "The Amos Family compiled by Mrs. Blanche Lilleston, Bourbon Co., Kentucky Thomas Amos Born 11-23-1713 - the oldest son - is the ancestor from whom the Bourbon County branch descends. He married 12 25 1735 to Elizabeth Day, b3-17-1719, daughter of Nicholas Day, Jr. and Elizabeth cox (m 7-14-1709)and she a daughter of Christopher Cox, Sr., 11-15-1713. Cox was aprominent family and member of St. Paul's Church at Old Chester. Rev.James Cox was the rector of the church from 1729 to 1753. They were Cavaliers, not Roundheads. Nicholas Day, Jr. was one of those who in April 1725 took up lots in Joppa, the new county seat of Baltimore Co., Md. The town of Baltimore was not laid out until 1729. The son of Thomas and Elizabeth Day Amos was Nicholas Day Amos. In the will of William Amos, his son Thomas inherited a tract of land in Baltimore Co., Md. known as Brantres (?) Ridge and an adjacent tract called Amoses Pursuit. Elizabeth Day, as the only living heir in inherited lands from both the Day and Cox families.

This Thomas Amos was born and died in Maryland. This just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the family being in New Kent Co. VA for generations.
