Wynona was born about 1932. She is the daughter of Irwin Amrhein and Gladys Day.

Wynona Brown, Sioux Falls, SD, died February 18, 2018, at Sanford Ava’s House. She was 86.
Wynona Daye Amrhein Brown was born July 4, 1931, in Baton Rouge, LA, to Irwin and Gladys (Day) Amrhein. She was raised in Baton Rouge where she attended public schools. Following her high school graduation, Wynona moved to Keene, TX, where she took one year of nurses training. Returning to Louisiana, she taught elementary school for a period of time. She then moved to Lincoln, NE to attend Union College. It was there that she met her true love, Delbert. Both students of Union College, the couple married just nine months after their first date.
On September 6, 1953, Wynona and Delbert were united in marriage. After finishing their respective educational coursework, the couple moved to California where Wynona became a loving mother and homemaker, in addition to teaching. Over the next few years, the family lived in various places. From 1968 to 1978, Wynona co-founded a school fund raising fruit project. She loved being involved with her family, church and community.
Wynona and Delbert moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1983. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church where she was active in a number of activities. Delbert and Wynona loved to travel the US and Europe to attend conferences and to visit family and friends. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wynona enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs, watching Jeopardy, reading and doing crosswords. She also enjoyed swimming.
Storyteller, Christian, and loyal friend, Wynona’s gregarious and friendly spirit will be forever cherished.
Grateful for having shared her life are her sons, Delbert " Earl" (Becky) Brown, Pulallup, WA, Kirk (Cindi) Brown, Lincoln, NE, Nedd (Jerri) Brown, Garretson, SD; daughters, Jill (John) Rasmussen, Daugaard, Denmark, Beth (Gernot) Pickhardt, Braunau am Inn, Austria; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Mona Rae Cazes.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am Friday, February 23, 2018, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7100 E. 26th Street. Visitation begins at noon, Thursday, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue (81st and Minnesota Ave.)
