Frank was born in 1863. He was the son of William Amsbary and Harriet Harlow. He passed away in 1944.
A son of William and Hariet (Harlow) Amsbary, the family moved to Delavan, Tazwell County, Illinois when he was four years old. He attended school there until age 15, then began clerking in a store in Tremont, Illinois. From there he moved to Peoria and worked three years for the railroad. Next, he moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and worked in the offices of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. By 1888, he returned to Pekin where he began a career as the waterworks commissioner. In 1899, he moved to Champaign, Illinois and became the superintendant and manager of the Champaign-Urbana Water Works. He married Addie Aydelott, in Pekin, April 16, 1890. There children were: Helen, Harlow, Harriet, Addie and Frank. Amsbary served as President of the Champaign Chamber of Commerce, President of the school board and director in the Loan and Investment Association. Active in several Masonic orders, he was a member of Western Star Lodge No. 240 A.F. and A.M. He died at his home, 512 W. Park, at 5PM April 9, 1944. His wife died five hours later, not knowing he had preceeded her.
