Hi, Rosie, if you click on the category "Bars Fight", (above "Biography") , that links to a page for the raid, on which I included the full poem. Please do contribute to the history.

I should also tell you that my great grandmother was Lily Mae Amsden, datter of Joel and Issabella Kirkpatrick ( a photo of whom I have). Lily married Verdia Spracklin. We have quite a bit of family history.. One of the Lymans fell off of the USS Constitution!.
there is a poem...the 1st written and published by a black person, a woman, who was a slave who witnessed an indian raid upon a group of haymakers. It is called Bars Fight and in it both Oliver and his brother Simeon are named and their deaths described. This is why their deaths are on the same day.
