Clarence H. Junie' Amster, Jr.
87; WWII Marine veteran

Clarence H. "Junie" Amster, Jr., 87, of New Albany died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at the Bennett House in New Albany.
Junie was a native of New Albany and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II, during which he served in the South Pacific and was one of our many heroes who took part in the landing at Iwo Jima. He retired as a professor from the University of Louisville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Amster.
The family has requested no public services, and private entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, is in charge of the arrangements.
