Noël was born in 1773. He passed away in 1854. His death certificate records his name as "Anctil dit St-Jean"

[Marriage of Noel Anctil and Marie Modeste Leveque; In the year one thousand seven hundred ninety six, the sixth of June, after the publication of three bans of marriage, done at the announcements of the parish masses of Riviere Ouelle, between Noel Anctil called St Jean, residing in this parish, son of Jean Anctil called St Jean, and of Elizabeth Fournier, his father and mother, of the first part; and Marie Modeste Levesque, daughter of deceased Pierre Roch Levesque, and of Modeste Hudon called Beaulieux, her father and mother, of this same parish, of the other part; not having found any other impediment to the said marriage, than the parentage of the third to the third {that is, they were 2nd cousins}, indeed they have obtained the dispensation of the Monseigneur Bishop of Quebec, as it appears through his letters resting in our hands, we, pastor of this parish, undersigned, received their mutual consent of marriage, and gave them the nuptial blessing, following the rite prescribed by our mother the Holy Church, catholic, apostolic, and roman, and this in the presence, on the side of the groom: of Jean Anctil, his brother, of Francois Anctil, also a brother, Louis Anctil, his brother, of Germain Levesque, cousin and godfather, of Jean Dube, his brother-in-law, of Francois Beaulieux, friend; and on the side of the bride: of Louis Desjardins, her father-in-law, of Antoine Lambert and Maurice Hudon called Beaulieux, her uncles, of Veronique Beaulieux, her aunt; all of which declared not knowing how to write, as well as the groom and bride, with the exception of Francois Anctil, who signed with us. {signatures follow} Francois Anctil, Bern. Noel and Marie Modeste were 2nd cousins; their common great grandparents were Francois Robert Levesque & Marie Charlotte Aubert (m. 1701)
