John died (age 72) on 30 March 1842 in Manhattan, New York County, New York, United States. The death record says he died of Dropsy, and he was buried in the Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery.[2]

Transcription of Will: In the name of God Amen, I, John Andariese of the City of New York, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do make ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. First I give and bequeath to my wife Margaret the sum of three hundred dollars per year, and as much more as shall be necessary for her comfortable support and maintenance, during her life and the free use occupation and enjoyment of the rear [?] house No. 317 Bowery with the appurtenances. Second, two years after the decease of myself and my said wife Margaret, my executors hereinafter named shall sell and dispose of all the property real and personal, whereof, I shall die seized, and convert the sum into Cash upon the most advantageous terms, they can. Third, I give and bequeath to Margaret Pinckney, Eliza Pinckney and Stephen Pinckney, children of my daughter Hannah (wife of Jonathan Pinckney), deceased, the sum of two hundred fifty dollars each, but if either of them shall die before my estate shall be distributed, his or her share shall be grant to the survivors in equal proportions. Fourth, I give and bequeath, all the residue of the estate and property whereof I shall die seized, to my children Eliza, wife of Johnathan Wilt, Margaret wife of George Cobbitt, Mary Andareise, Nicholas Andariese, John Andariese and William Andariese, to be equally divided between them, but subject to the following restrictions and deductions Viz. 1 The share of my daughter Margaret Cobbitt to be safely invested, by my said executors and put out on interest on mortgage of unencumbered real estate and the interest and income thereof, to be paid to her alone, for her own sole and exclusive use, without any claim control or interference of her husband, and without being subject to his debts, in the same manner as though she were sole and unmarried, during her natural life and at her death, her said share shall be given to her children if she shall have any in equal proportion. If she does not leave any children, then her said share shall go to her surviving brothers and sisters, and the children of those who shall have died. 2. From the share of my son John, shall be deducted the amount of eighteen hundred dollars (he having already received so much from me) 3. From the share of my son Nicholas, shall be deducted the sum of eight hundred dollars (he having also received so much from me, including a note for one hundred dollars to Peter Noarles [?], in which I am security) 4. From the share of my son William shall be deducted the sum of eight hundred dollars (he having also received so much from me). Lastly, I make constitute and appoint my sons Nicholas Andariese John Andariese and William Andariese, to be executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the twenty fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight-hundred and forty two. John Andariese. The foregoing instrument was subscribed by the said John Andariese in our presence, and acknowledged by him to each of us, and he at the same time declared the said instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament, and we at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other have signed our names as witnesses hereto, with our respective place of residence. There was a Surrogate's Court Case regarding this probate in February, 1850.[5]
