My first entry here is a marriage record for Gertrude Kuhn. Gertrude Kuhn was a daughter to John and Louisa Kuhn. I have many relatives that were either born in Casnovia, Michigan or lived very nearby. I believe that this is the correct marriage record for Gertrude. Everything here is a very good math except for the mother's name. Here the surname is "Anderes" instead of Andrews. As time goes by and I view more ane more documents, I am becoming more and more convinced that the correct surname for Louisa (or Louise) is ANDERES instead of ANDREWS.

Next you will see a census record for Louise Kuhn (age 67 years) living with daughter Gertrude, husband Edward Wescott and thier children. Husband John Kuhn died in 1910. Louisa was Lizzie Kuhn's mother.

Please note that the D.O.B. for Louise would be 1863 here. That would be correct and exactly what I would expect it to be.

Next, a marriage document. This one shows the marriage between Aleta D. Kuhn and John F. Rood. Aleta was a daughter to John and Louisa "ANDERES". Again the surname for Louisa is listed as Anderes not Andrews.

I am 100% sure that the document below is correct (a phrase I rarely use here on Wikitree). For many more details on this, see the profile for Garnet L. Peterson. Everything is explained there.

I have never been able to find the parents of Louise M. Andrews who is of German decent as far as I know. I got to wondering if the name "Louise" might be an "Americanized" version of a German name and what that might be, I had no clue but I googled it and found that "Louise" is considered to the the feminine version of the German name "Lois". I then searched the name "Lois M. Andrews" at and found the following very quickly.

Lois M Andrews in household of Sylves Andrews, "United States Census, 1870"

Name: Lois M Andrews Event Type: Census Event Year: 1870 Event Place: Wisconsin, United States Gender: Female Age: 6 Race: White Race (Original): W Birth Year (Estimated): 1863-1864 Birthplace: Wisconsin Page Number: 7 Household ID: 36 Line Number: 23 Affiliate Name: The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Affiliate Publication Number: M593 GS Film number: 000553231 Digital Folder Number: 004268808 Image Number: 00233 Household Gender Age Birthplace Sylves Andrews M 29 New York Lucy A Andrews F 30 New York Lois M Andrews F 6 Wisconsin Ida Andrews F 4 Wisconsin Minnie Andrews F 0 Wisconsin

At first glance this would appear to be a winner although I can't prove a thing. The year of birth here is perfect (1863-1864). I think that the name "Sylves" is short for Sylvester which has German roots (I googled that as well). And low and behold, I was hoping for a birth in Wisconsin and there it is!

The other thing about this record is that the middle initial is "M". Just what I had hoped for!

Again, I can't prove it yet, but I personally believe that this is the girl that eventually married John Kuhn. I'll do more reasearch with what I have and see what else I can find?

Andreas-206 and Anderes-2 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same spouse name, same location, same approximate dates
