Obituary

Eddie Anders Funeral Service's Held Jan. 23

Eddie J. Anders, 89, of Weimar died Jan. 20 in Weimar. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23 at St. Michael Church in Weimar with Father John Bily officiating.

Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.

Eddie was born May 9, 1917 in Ammannsville to Joe and Mary (Sassin) Anders.

He attended school through the fifth grade.

Mr. Anders began serving in the U.S. Army in 1942 during World War II. He spent 19 months in Africa, 14 months in Italy and discharged in 1945.

Eddie married Georgia (Kuchar) Anders on June 28,1948 in Weimar.

Mr. Anders was employed by Better Beverages in Weimar and Hallettsville, and was a member of the KC and Veterans organizations. He lived in Weimar all his life.

He is survived by his sons, Garrett Anders of Weimar, Leonard Anders of Spring, and Allan Anders of Katy; and daughter, Darlene Bludau of Hallettsville.

He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Anders of Weimar; sisters, Viasta Beyer of Stafford and Margie Lev of Rosenberg; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Anders; brothers, Frank, Emil, and Steve Anders; and sister, Martha Dusek.

Pallbearers were Shawn Anders, Brandon Anders, Travis Anders, Chase Anders, Eric Bludau and Mark Anders. Weimar Mercury, January 25, 2007, page 2A
