Biography

Catharina was born on May 1, 1747, to Anders Mattsson and his wife Karin Olofsdotter at Närtunaby in Närtuna parish, Stockholm county, Sweden.[1] She married Anders Ersson and from 1772 they lived at Söderby, Närtuna. There they had daughter Kerstin on July 31, 1772,[2] and son Eric on March 2, 1775.[3] They continued to live at a few different other places in Närtuna (Närtuna By, Lilla Åkerby and grounds of Åkerby). There they had sons Anders (1778) and Jan (1780), and daughter Anna (1783).[4][5]

The couple still lived there in July 1797, but their son Jan passed away in 1791, and their other children had left home.

Research notes

It has not been sorted out where the couple went 1797. They probably moved, since they have not been found at the same residence in the household records volume for the years 1798-1804. Their death records have not been found either, so we only know that they died later than July 9, 1797, since they had Communion that day. They are also not present in the death records for Närtuna in the volume that ends 1803. Their marriage record has not been found either, so the place and the date of their marriage are unknown.
