He married Else Marie Ebbesen in about 1868 in Denmark. They immigrated to the United States with the John G. Holman Company shortly after they were married; settling in Parowan, Iron County, Utah.[3] He changed his last name to Jensen after he immigrated.[4] They had ten children, all born in Parowan.
Hansted parish historically was alternatively part of both the Skanderborg Amt and Aarhus Amt. It was always part of Voer Herred.
