Susan (Susanna) was baptised at East Rudham, Norfolk, England on 13 October 1809, [1] the daughter of James Anderson and Mary late Williamson. Susan married John Edwards at St. Oswald, Malpas, Cheshire in 1840. [2] Susan died in 1880 in Wrexham, Flintshire. [3]
This person is a real bother, I can find no early records for her and her parents, lots of ghost trails but nothing that can be verified. Why did she turn up in Wales? Was she, with her sister, planning to get to Liverpool for a passage to America? Did she travel alone then send for her sister once she was settled? I am re-examining all source data and will update when and if things become clearer, any suggestions welcome!
Susan and her sister Sarah both appeared at The Oak Inn in Bangor is y Coed, Susan was married to the landlord and her sister was a barmaid. When her husband died Susan moved into the house next door, her sister had then married, the Inn was then renamed The Royal Oak, which it still called.
