Raymond Wilson was born 5 Mar 1903.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] in Washington, D.C. to Ernest and Carrie Anderson. Wilson was the maiden name of his paternal grandmother.

Raymond came from a fairly well-situated family but began a family at a very young age. Cutting his education short, he became a sign painter,[4] the same occupation as his father. He married Margaret Delaney while still a teen and had three children by the time he was 21. Raymond and Margaret separated in the early 1930s but she refused to divorce due to her Irish Catholic upbringing.

Raymond died in Glenn Dale, MD, but his death was recorded in the District of Columbia as the hospital was owned by the District.[8] He is buried in Mt. Olivet, D.C., sec 60, lot 711.[9][10]

Research Notes

No marriage record has been located. Family history indicates that it was in Baltimore, MD[7], which could be true as during that period, Maryland was one of the few states that allowed a quick marriage and the teenage couple might have been motivated to marry quickly. The 1930 census indicates Raymond and Margaret were 19 when they married.[4] The problem with this is that it would have been after the birth of Mary Ellen.
