Pvt. William Anderson served with Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.

He married Sarah Early, daughter of Jeremiah Early jr. and Sarah Anderson on December 23, 1783 in Bedford County, Virginia. They had 5 sons and 6 daughters:

On April 26, 1760 in Bedford County, Virginia, William was born to Jacob Anderson and Mary Callaway.[1][2]

About 1776 in Bedford County, Virginia, William became a Private in the Bedford County Militia during the Revolutionary War.[3][4]

On December 20, 1783 in Bedford County, Virginia, William married his 1st cousin, Sarah Early. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Early jr. and Sarah Anderson, William's aunt.[5][6]

In August 1784 in Campbell County, Virginia, William's brother-in-law, Jeffrey Early, sold him 937 acres on the north side of Staunton River and south side of Goose Creek.[7]

On October 6, 1784 in Bedford County, Virginia, William became the father of Mary Anderson. She went by the name Polly.

In 1785 in Bedford County, Virginia, William became the father of Sarah Anderson. She married David W. Carner on 2 February 1809 in Bedford County, Virginia.

On June 12, 1786 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of John Anderson. He later married Lucy Walden on October 10, 1810.

On May 8, 1788 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of Matilda Anderson. She later married Pleasant Tyree.

On April 19, 1790 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of Elizabeth Anderson. She later married Samuel C. Tyree on November 5, 1816.

On February 16, 1792 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of James Callaway Anderson. He later married Jane Robinson Moorman on October 20, 1819.

On May 28, 1794 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of Jacob Anderson.

On February 7, 1796 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of Lucinda Anderson. She later married Thomas Callaway on June 20, 1811.

On March 8, 1798 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of Doshea Anderson. She later married John A. Price on December 10, 1822.

On March 23, 1802 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of Jeremiah Early Anderson. He later married Elizabeth A. Brooks on October 23, 1829.

On February 3, 1804 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the father of William Anderson, who married Lucy C. Clark on December 13, 1834.

In 1805 in Campbell County, Virginia, William became the sheriff. [8]

On January 13, 1806 in Campbell County, Virginia, William's daughter, Mary, married Richmond C. Tyree.

On June 10, 1806 in Campbell County, Virginia, William, age 46, died.
