Biography

Birdie was born to Bernard Whitmer and Clara Taylor Anderson. She was the only daughter out of five children. She graduated from East High School and then went on to work for Utah Woolen Mills. On May 26, 1933 she married Theodore Horman in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple were blessed with nine children, 28 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She spent many hours helping her husband run the family business "Horman Construction Company". She lost Theodore, her companion of 66 years, in 1999. Birdie was bless with a wonderful singing voice. She volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at the LDS Hospital for nearly 13 years. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church, and twice served as Relief Society president, along with many other Church callings. Her activities in other social events were always appreciated and anticipated by friends and family alike. Services were held August 10, 2005 at the LDS Cottonwood 10th Ward Chapel in Holladay, UT.
