Dorothy Evelyn Anderson was born on 10 July 1922 in West Virginia, United States, the daughter of James Arthur Anderson and Mary Lucinda Douglas.^[1]

Dorothy married Robert William Brown^[2] on 04 June 1947.

Dorothy and Robert had two sons: Robert Lawson Brown^[2] and Roger Dale Brown^[2].
