Biography

Genealogically Defined

Charles was born about 1835 at Prittlewell, Essex, England[1][2][3][4][5][6] and baptised on the 19th April 1835 at St. Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell, Essex, England, the son of James Anderson (baker) and Sophia Anderson of Prittlewell[7].

In 1853, Charles and his brother Thomas were indicted for stealing 30lb of straw belonging to Richard Osborne Fuller, at Prittlewell. Both were acquitted,[8]

On the 1st November 1856, Charles married Emma Hart at St. Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell, Essex, England. Charles Anderson, 21, bachelor, labourer of Prittlewell, son of James Anderson (labourer); and Emma Hart, 20, spinster of Prittlewell, daughter of John Hart (labourer). Witnessed by Thomas Anderson & John Baker[9]

He passed away aged 68 years in 1903[10] at Prittlewell, Essex, England and probably buried at the closest cemetery.
