Hi, Kris. You're my first connection on here! Is your DNA still on Ancestry?

Hi Kris,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Thanks Butch. I'm just getting to know my way around and have been assisting a descendant of Johannes Valentin Bressler. I did manage to merge one duplicate into Presler-53 which appears to have the most accurate information, but there are 5 more and the managers do not respond: Presler-20, Presler-21, Pressler-27, Presler-76 and Presley-972. How does one handle non-response? Thanks again, Kris

The easiest way that I have found is to connect the profiles as a pending merge, that way the profile manager should see it if they are still active,if they aren't active then the merge will be approved after 30 days and you can go ahead and merge the duplicates. You always want to merge profiles into the lowest number last name at birth,in this case they should all be merged into Pressler-20,the sources will be moved when the profiles are merged and you then want to clean up any duplicate sources and such that don't need to be there.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.

P.P.S. Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.
