It will explain how we found out that we are Scottish... country or origin. It will also touch on another branch of our Anderson lineage. My eldest Documented ancestor David Anderson of Lousia County VA had a cousin that was exposed through YDNA matches. We are in some way related to the REv. Nathan Anderson, Methodist Minister of Hanover and Louisa County VA. Rev Nathan lived from 1745 - 1821 (~ 76 years). Some information out on the internet have him born in England and marrying his wife in England as well. One of his sons wrote a book and he said Nathan came to America from Scotland which is what fits into the fact our lineage YDNA is Scotland. The sons documentation makes the most sense. Since these are cousins I am not going to get into any details. I just want people to know that our David Anderson d. 1781 married Judith in Louisa County VA and The Rev. Nathan Anderson lines are related by very close YDNA matches.

Subject: This lineage's YDNA markers

YDNA markers are father to son father to son DNA. Daughters do not share the YDNA markers. There are five Anderson males that have matched, including myself, with our Anderson lineage.

FTDNA Anderson YDNA tested Anderson

Family Tree DNA KIt Numberes 58806, 308026, 48488, (me)86095, and 345045'

The first 3 test are matches are to the Rev. Nathan Anderson Branch of this Anderson lineage.

The last 2 test are for David and Judith's lineage. Which is Frances D. Anderson a descendant of Archelus's son David. And myself a descendant of Archelus's son John (m. Susan Naylor Andeson).

Rev. Nathan Anderson and our David Anderson (m. Judith) are cousins. We do not know how they are related at this time, but it would have to be in the mid 1700s.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Raymond or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Raymond Anderson: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup R-M269, FTDNA kit #86095
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Raymond Anderson: Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup U5b2a, FTDNA kit #86095
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Raymond:

DNA markers and the 4 other Anderson's that are a match with me for this Anderson lineage.

FTDNA "Anderson" R- Group 11 FTDNA Anderson YDNA tested Anderson KIt#s 58806), 308026, 48488, (me)86095, and 345045

The top 3 are matches are to the Rev. Nathan Anderson Branch of this Anderson lineage. The Bottom 2 are for David and Judith's lineage. Which is Frances D. Anderson a descendant of Archelus's son David. And my self a descendant of Archelus's son John m. Susan Naylor Andeson.

Rev. Nathan Anderson and our David Anderson m. Judith are cousins but we do not know how but in the mid 1700s it would seem.

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
