Andrew Anderson (the name of the family in Sweden) was born in Sweden, where he died at an advanced age. He was a farmer, and was awarded a silver spoon by the government for 'his success in turning wild uncultivated tracts of land into fertile fields. This spoon is now in the possession of his grandson, Frank Otto Swedborg. He was a very strong man, six feet two inches in height. He and his wife, who died at the age of seventy years, belonged to the Swedish Lutheran church.
Anders was born 1777-05-07 and was christened the next day. In his birth notice, the mother is listed as Cathrina Bengtsdotter, no name of the father is listed.[1]
Anders died at age 81 in Pelarebo, (Stora) Åby parish 1858-11-19 and was buried 1858-11-28. According to death notice, he was married twice, first marriage in 1802 ended with him being widowed in 1809. Second marriage was to Carin Jonsdotter in 1811.[2]
