Lloyd Anderson is Notable.

Lloyd was born to John Anderson and Addie Wilson in 1902.

He attended the University of Washington and earned a BS in electrical engineering.[1][2]

In 1932, he married Mary Gertrude Gaiser.[3]

Lloyd and Mary were avid mountaineers and part of the Mountaineers Society.[4] Seeing a need for quality gear, they created REI in 1938, a consumer cooperative.[5]

In 1980, he published the book "Climbing Notebook".

In 1993, they were inducted into the Cooperative Business Association's Hall of Fame.[6]

He passed away in 2000.[7][8][9]
