James Anderson, son of Edward Edwards and Susan (Chaney) Anderson, married twice: (1) 15 December 1820, Maria Williams (2) 28 December 1844 Susan Rockhold. There was a very large family and it has been difficult to trace them with any success. The children were: By his first wife: Richard Anderson, Grafton Anderson, James Anderson, Alverta Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Julia Virginia Anderson, Talitha Anderson, Nellie Anderson, Charlotte Anderson, Anna Maria Anderson, died unmarried.
