There was a total lunar eclipse on the day I was born, 29th January 1953 in Walker, Newcastle Upon Tyne. The family lived at 1580 Walker Road when I was born then moved to 11 Beckfoot Place, Slatyford shortly after.
I contracted meningitus as a baby. It is said that a lot of new babies died in that area. We moved to 276 St Anthony's Road and I attended Wharrier Street School 1958-1961
Family moved to Derby around 1961. We lived at 34 Scarborough Rise then 119 Perth Street. I Attended Breadsall Hilltop Junior School, then Darwin Secondary Modern.
1968 (aged 15) started my first job at Derby Cables (Hawker Siddley).
The family emigrated to Auckland NZ June 1970. Met husband Dave in August 1974 and married one month later on 20th September 1974.
We worked and lived in Port Vila, Vanuatu for 2 years then lived in Sydney, Australia for 3 years, before travelling to the UK then settling down in Auckland, New Zealand.
We adopted our daughter Danielle, she is our only child.
