Biography
Amund Anderson was born at Haugen under Hildestad, Hafslo and christened 19 Mar 1818[1] (no date of birth given) as illegitimate son of Anders Amundson and Bendte Olsdotter. His parents married 22 Jun 1818.[2]
Amund first married Cecilia Olsdotter from Nedre Kvam, Hafslo in Hafslo 19 Apr 1843[3]
He was a tenant farmer on Hafslo prestegård (the priest's farm) 1847-49
He moved to Reppen, Sogndal
Family emigrated from Hafslo 4 Apr 1854[4] #45-49
They took Hillestad as surname in the US
Cecilia Olsdotter died in the autumn of 1855
He married Anna (Andersdotter) Hillestad (1831-1912) in Wisconsin 7 Sep 1856
