John married Anna Sophia Anderson in 1890 in Pocahontas County, Iowa.

They can be found in the 1900 census in Manson. John lists his occupation as “carpenter.” This census notes that the couple has had 5 children with three currently living: Mabel, Frank and Clarence. [3]
Anna died in 1901 and John is found in the 1905 [4]and the 1915[5] state census’ in Manson, listed as a widow.
In the 1920, 1930 and 1940 censuses, John is living with his sister, Emma, and her husband Oxel Johnson in Manson, Iowa.
John died in 1942[6] and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Manson. [7]
