Biography

Anders Olofsson in Gävebo and his wife Brita Hansdotter had a son Olof, who is in the household record.^[1]

He may be the young man from Gävebo who was buried 26 July 1691 at an age of 28 years, although he is referred to in a confusing and incorrect way as Olof Hans Son. His obituary explains that he was born in Gävebo in spring 1663; that he had been serving in several good households in Norberg parish and was home visiting his parents when he died from a nosebleed lasting three days.^[2] We think that Olof Hans Son is meant to be "the son of Olof Hansson" rather than his own name - his maternal uncle Olof Hansson was the other head of household in Gävebo, while his own father (Anders Olofsson) was dead. Gävebo was far from central Skinnskatteberg - and in general more oriented towards Norberg parish in terms of kinship relations. And the young man himself would not be well known to the vicar, having been absent from the parish.
