Biography
Petter was born in Skinnskatteberg parish 13 May 1796 to day labourer Anders Larsson at Tegelbruket and his wife Catharina Halvardsdotter.[1][2] The family moved to Vetterskoga in 1805.[3][4]
When PetterAndersson was seventeen he went to work in Långviken.[5][6][7]
Pehr Andersson was accepted as soldier #66 Forsman for Bergs Kompani of Västmanlands regemente 14 December 1818.[8] As a soldier he moved to Högforsen[9] and then to Övertjärna.[10]
Soldier Per Forsman and the widow Sara Brita Näf in Övertjärna were married 9 April 1826.[11] They had at least eight children.[12] Per Forsman was dismissed in 1847, because of venous ulcers.[13] His daughter Lovisa Cathrina Forsman was married to the next soldier Forsman.
Per Forsman died 20 December 1859 in Västerfärnebo parish, in the home of his son, David Forsman, crofter under Fors.[14]
Seven of his children (all the ones who reached maturity) used Forsman as a surname. They are listed on the profile of Per Forsman's wife Sara Brita Näf. Six of them were still alive in 1880 and appear in the census (Folkräkningar) for 1880 or 1890.
Skinnskatteberg may have been early in this respect, because the parish was so industrialized; many workers adopting family names; many smith families having family names since way back.
