Biography

Sweden
Janne Andersson lived in Sweden.

Janne was born on 19 Nov 1842[1], as the son of Anders Larsson and Christina Andersdotter (1807-1871) in Vastra Hed, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. [2][3] and was baptised the same day in Veddige.[4]

Jannes (residence Syllinge, Veddige, Viske) married Johanna Gustava (Berntsdotter) Anderson (abt.1841-)(residence Veddige, Veddige, Viske) on 24 Mar 1867 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden.[5]

The Veddige Church Household Record for 1881-1895 referenced above also showed the following birth dates for the children: A daughter, Britta Lena, was born on 13 Jun 1864.[1][6] A son, Johannes, was born on 9 Dec 1867.[7] A daughter, Johanna Lena Jannesdotter (1870-1883), was born on 4 Feb 1870.[1] A daughter, Lovisa Christina, was born on 12 Dec 1872[1] in Ås, Halland, Sverige (Sweden). [8] A daughter, Emelia Jannesdotter (1875-), was born on 28 Jan 1875.[1][9]. A son, Johan August Jannesson (1877-bef.1977) was born in Veddige, on 28 Apr 1877.[1]

Janne traveled alone, departing from Veddige, Halland on 22 Apr 1886 to "Nordamerika" for work purposes.[10]

Janne died.[11]

Research Notes

Ach du lieber. I don't know how to say it in Swedish.

Work in progress. Setting up timeline. A collaborator (PB) is working with me and may not yet know what a MESS this has become. Red Herring found yesterday. I may need to separate relationships to resolve issues.I haven't made any progress - 3 months later. Still trying to improve my Swedish skills. Apparently there was a fire in 1769 that destroyed Veddige records ... I have not looked into what years and locations were involved or circumstances. NOTE: I showed needs in bold to remind me and others what yet needs to be found and substantiated. Anyone can add if they get to it before me. I'm a slow learner on how to find and read Swedish records ... . (I'm still searching for appropriate records. My work on updating this profile has barely begun.)

Household: Can someone with Swedish skills translate 1st 5 lines of info on Swedish parish household record? (See image source. Also shown on wife's profile)

Children: Need additional substantiating records for each child

Where did they live after the birth of their children?

Jannes and Johanna Berntsdotter did NOT live with 2 children in Illinois in 1880 .
They also did not live in Polk County, Wisconsin.

Was there a PARISH record that showed him leaving the Veddige Parish on or abt. 22 Apr 1886 expecting to leave for USA. Need substantiating parish record

Did he emigrate? If so, where did he settle? Did his wife follow at a later date?

RE: Crown Tax Records i.e. ´Mantalslängder´ may include farmer, village, farm name, adults in household; Need ´Mantalslängder´ Records This most likely relates to Johanna Berntsdotter and Janne Andersson; however I have not seen this in case anyone wants to handle. My hands are full just finding and correcting profiles that exist.

Where do I find these. Need to identify each person of interest. If anyone knows link to this source, please consider adding here, so that I can attempt to find. 2022 may be an enlightening time for my far-from-developed Swedish skills.

DEATH: Need death/burial record

Estimataed date of Before 1942 as most likely before age 100

What happened to Janne and his wife after the birth of their children? Did they emigrate? Where were they buried?
