On the twenty-second day of the month of October in the year 1895 in the Parochial Church of Our Lady of Light in the village of Ponta do Sol, county of the same name, diocese of Funchal, I solemnly baptized a female individual given the name Antónia, she born in this parish in the sixth hour of the afternoon on the twentieth day of the current month, the legitimate daughter, first of her name, of José de Andrade Souto and Francisca da Luz Pitta, farmers, natives and parishioners of this parish, they received and living in the site of Adegos; the paternal grandchild of José de Andrade Souto and Maria Vieira, and maternal grandchild of José Rodrigues Pitta and Maria da Luz. The Godfather was António Ferreira Pitta, and the Godmother his consort (spouse) Dona Maria Amelia Mesquita Pitta, proprietors, of whom I know to be them. And for the record this was written in duplicate and assent given after reading and conferring with those present and the Godparents, who signed with me. What is written is true.
