Biography

Teresa B. (Andre) Longmier was born on 26 Nov 1914 in Independence, Trempealeau, Wisconsin, United States, daughter of William Andre (1882 - 1965) and Elizabeth (Passon) Andre (1891 - 1977).

Teresa (~29) married Henry Robert Longmier (~30) (1913 - 1945) in 1944 in El Paso, El Paso.

Teresa died on 17 Aug 2002 in Whitehall, Trempealeau, Wisconsin aged 87. She is buried in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery, Independence.


OBITUARY: Teresa Longmier, 87, of Independence died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Tri-County Memorial Hospital, Whitehall, Wis.

She was born Nov. 26, 1914, in Independence to William and Elizabeth (Passon) Andre. She married Henry Longmier in 1944 at El Paso, Texas. He died Jan. 25, 1945.

Teresa taught in rural schools for five years, worked for Dr. C. F. Peterson for several years, and was a bookkeeper at Northern Investment Co. for over 20 years. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane (Broney) Matchey of Independence; three sisters, Martha Peek of Onalaska, Wis., Delphine Thompson of Waukesha, Wis., and Carol Budny of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Joe (Emily) Matchey of Strum, Wis., and Clare (Chad) Semling of Eau Claire, Wis.; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Matchey.

Teresa was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Mary Andre and Lucy Morchinek; and a brother, Bill Andre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with the Very Rev. Douglas C. Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Teresa loved her God, family and baseball.
