Jacob was listed as a 46-year old weaver when he emigrated from Campen, Germany to Nova Scotia aboard the Gale in 1751[1][2][3][4][5]. Unfortunately, Jacob died during, or shortly after the crossing, as he does not appear with his children in the records[2]
His wife was Elizabeth[2], or Anna Catherine[6]. Unfortunately, Elizabeth died during, or shortly after the crossing, as she does not appear with her children in the records. If her name was Anna Catherine, she may have survived until 1755, but is not shown in the victualling lists after that time. Since Wright (P&P) is the source for her name provided in Shankle, there is likely a transcription error, so this profile shows instead a daughter named Catherine, who appeared on the victualling lists. Further, the children were likely older than indicated in Shankle as they would all have been born before their parents died[6]
Their children included:
Jacob Jr[2][3], who married Margaret Maria Jung on March 29, 1763[6]
