Biography

Sweden
Johan Andreasson lived in Sweden.

Johan Berndt Andreasson was born on 18 Sep 1853 and Baptised on 19 Sep 1853 as the son of Andreas Gunnarsson and Anna Britta Torkelsdotter; the family shown as living at Kärret vid Björkholm.[1][2]

Johan Berndt Andreasson (b 18 Sep1853) (29) of Vabranna #3 and Anna Brita Berntsdotter (1859-) (no maiden surname shown on birth record, but shown as Berndtsdotter on the marriage registry) (b 24 Apr 1859) (23) of Vabranna #4, married on 30 Sep 1882 in Veddige, Halland, Sverige.[3] Also seen at [4]

Johan Berndt (20), who was born in "Halland Weddige" departed Göteborg (Gothenburg), Göteborg Och Bohus (Västra Götaland), Sverige (Sweden) on ship Rollo, on 14 Apr 1871 with first destination shown as Hull, England.[5] His final destination was shown as being Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York; Johan Berndt Andreasson being the principal person[6] (Note that only he shows on this transcribed record. It is not known if others were traveling with him. No image of the record is shown.)

Later at age 22, on 21 May 1875, Johan departed Göteborgs port, Göteborg on ship Orlando with arrival at Hull, England.[7]

NOTE: Although there appears to be at least 2 trips to the USA, it does not appear that these were "emigration" in nature. He was born in Veddige, married in Veddige, his children were born in Veddige, and he died in Veddige. Possibly his trips to the USA were for visiting his siblings or nieces/nephews who were known to have been living in Jamestown, Chautauqua County, NY.

Johan "Bernt"[sic] Andreasson died on 18 Jul 1919 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden[8].

Research Notes

Swedish help is NEEDED for reading and translating the 2 words after his name on record #8 of the Marriage Record referenced. I need those 2 words. [1]

NEED: Sweden to USA Emigration and USA Immigration or "Entry" passenger lists.

Is it possible to distinguish if the two Sweden departures were actually him
Is there any way to see the additional passengers that were on those trips?
Family of his brother-in-law Samuel Berntsson Wedberg, sister-in-law Anna Lena Berntsdotter Johnson, and brother-in-law Carl Johan (aka Charles John) Berntsson/Weborg remember "family visiting". Also one of those siblings actually did emigrate at about the same time ... I'm wondering if that sister or other "family" were on those two ships with him. Need Swedish Record help for both voyages AND help in finding his "return" voyages to Sweden.
