Ancestry public member stories record that David was living in Sydney in 1849 when his wife Elizabeth arrived in Sydney with his children Mary, David and Alexander. They apparently travelled to New South Wales on board the ship called Success.[1] The shipping record confirmed the journey made by the four family members and that their husband/father, David, was a convict living in Sydney at this time. It also confirmed that the family came from Coleraine in Londonderry.[2]
The shipping record also stated that Mary was aged 19 from Coleraine and was a house servant. It also recorded that she was a Protestant and that her state of bodily health at the time of the voyage was "weak".
