Research Notes
An image of the baptism register has not been found online, although transcriptions are readily available. Furthermore, there seems to be no civil record of her birth on the UK General Register Office online indexes.
Betty may have died, unmarried, in 1879, being buried at Ashton under Lyne on 25 Oct 1879. Having now received a copy from the UK GRO of her death certificate it confirms that this Betty did die in 1879, citing her address as 15 Duncan Street, the same as her address in the 1871 census record.
An alternative was that she married Thomas Foster in 1871 at Ashton under Lyne. However, having now received the copy of the marriage certificate from the UK GRO I can confirm that this is not the Betty Andrew that married Thomas Foster on 31 Jul 1871 in the Parish Church at Christ Church, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire.
