Janet made frequent trips to visit Woodbine Ave and her family from Lakewood Ohio where she lived. Coming by street car on a snowy day, she began to walk the remainder of the distance when a hearse and a truck collided on the street. After moving the hearse, Janet's stilled body was found underneath.
Janet recovered. She moved to Santa Monica Ca with her daughter Janet b. 1916.
After some time, she moved back to Cleveland where she stayed for some time with her son, Wm R Gerlach b 1893 and his family on Woodbine Ave.
