William was born about 1824. He is the son of James Andrew and Mary Shedden. 1841 Georges Street, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland 1891 Doonfoot Kennels, Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland

1851 census. William is a Miller, and resideing with his parents. at Little Milbank, Lochwinnoch, Upper Ward, Renfrewshire, Scotland 1871 census unmarried. and living Old Dailly Mill, Dailly, Ayrshire, Scotland mother Mary is a widow, and living with him, and brother John. William has 21 acres of Arable land. and still a miller.

married Elizabeth Douglas 19 Nov 1879 Maybole Father John Douglas was a Joiner. mother Jane. Elizabeth was a Housekeeper and 25 years old at marriage. Spinster. George Porter was the minister that signed the Marriage Cert. Mother Mary was still alive but Father was deceased. 1881 Alloway Toll, Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland William was a Toll Keeper. 1891 Doonfoot Kennels, Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland William was a Miller. Died of Heart Failure, with Senile decay. Son Douglas Andrew was the witness. Died in Waterloo Cottage Preswick Scotland
