When John William Andrew was born on 26 July 1891, in New Zealand, his father, John William Andrew, was 19 and his mother, Sarah Ann Familton, was 24.[1]
He died on 7 August 1974, in Otago, New Zealand, at the age of 83,[5] and was buried in the Crookston Cemetery - Heriot, Clutha District, Otago, New Zealand. Block II, Plot 18. Inscription: Remembrance. 46669 Tpr 1st NZEF John William ANDREW 7.8.74 age 83 yrs. Also his loving wife Jessie Marion 12.10.1993 age 90 yrs.[6]
