Biography

Samuel was born in 1893. He was the son of Clayton Andrew and Susan Flack. He passed away on April 10, 1918, in Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa, and is buried in the Highland Township Cemetery in Churdan, Greene County, Iowa.

1900 - United States Federal Census - In the 1900 census, C. Andrew, 37, is farming in Highland Township, Greene County, Iowa. Included in his household are his wife, S. Andrew, 37, and children, Earl, 15; May, 14; Florence, 11; Mattie, 9; Wilford, 7; Lura, 5; and niece, Maggie Flack, 7.[1]

1910 - United States Federal Census - In the 1910 census, Clayton Andrew, 47, and his wife, Susan J., 47, are living in Highland Township, Greene County, Iowa, with their children, Mattie C., 18; Wilford S. Andrew, 16; and Lura E. Andrew, 15. Clayton is farming. Wilford is listed as a laborer.[2]
