Biography

Daughter of Joseph Drexel Andrews Sr. and Eudora (Willis) Andrews

Gay graduated from Douglas high school in Douglas, Arizona.
She got a job when she was 14 years old at the movie theater..she also worked at the biggest drug store in town, called The Douglas Drug.
Gay was very smart and also independent...she made extremely good grades in school especially in the sciences.. she graduated in 1946 and went on to school at Arizona state college..it later became a university.
She married before she graduated in 1950, but finished to become a medical technician.. her first job in that field was at Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Phoenix. She liked that sort of work and continued in that field the rest of her life.
She had three children; she and her husband lived a few different places before settling in San Diego, California.

Geraldine (Andrews) Sherrill

Gaye, Gwen and Gertrude each worked at a movie theatre in Douglas ..mother would go every night about 10 pm to get them. Then they would often go dancing or just go to the back door of the bakery and get something good to take home to eat. The boys they were with were cadets from the air force base just outside of Douglas. Gertrude and our cousin Betty who also worked at the theatre married cadets. Gerry Andrews . Gays also worked at the main drugstore called Douglas Drug.

Ladon Warner

Gay and Ernie Zeno were married 14 April 1950 and divorced Nov. 1955. Both were graduated from Arizona State University. He receiving a degree for teaching and she, graduating with honors in the field of medical technology.
