Biography
Scarlett Andrews is likely one of the "Free Andrews" who migrated c 1733 - 1736 to Bertie NC, where she married William Nichols.
Born about 1717 in Tuscarora Reserve, Bertie NC
She is the mother of at least two Nichols sons (Isaac and Jeremiah) and possibly a third (Coleman). Note, over time some have apparently taken the name of the third son, Coleman, and adding the given name of a granddaughter, Edith, have created a person to be the wife of (a) William Nichols named "Edith Coleman"; and in addition some went further and added the name Coleman to (a) William Nichols b c 1718 New Kent VA. And all of that is undocumented and unproven! It could be that Coleman Nichols, believed by some to be this William Nichols son, actually is the son of the other William Nichols of New Kent VA.
As for the confused birthdates, this William Nichols (Bertie) could not possibly have married at the age of 14 and fathered children so young. The "other" William Nichols (New Kent) probably was not born in the same year and was likely younger.
