Biography
John Andrews was born in about 1798 in Godalming. He was the son of John and Sarah Andrews. He was christened on 7 Oct 1798 at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Godalming (Anglican).
John married Ann Elson on 2 Sep 1819 at St Peter and St Paul's. Both were local to the parish, neither had been married before, and neither could sign their name. The witnesses were James Isleet? and Henry Coston.
Their daughter Sarah was christened on 26 Dec 1819 at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Godalming (Anglican). Her family's address was given as Mead Row, and John's occupation as labourer.
John died in 1876 at his home in Farncombe, aged 77. He was buried on 19 Jun 1876 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section.
