After the death of wife Phebe Washburn, Benjamin Stocking remarried to Mary “Molly” (Andrews) Stocking, widow of Steven Stocking,[1] on 7 Jan. 1789 in Chatham.[2] They were living in Chatham, CT, in the 1790,[3] and 1800 federal censuses,[4] where he was a tanner and shoemaker,[5] and he died on 4 Dec. 1808 in Byron, Genesee Co., NY, aged 76 years,[6] but was buried in Portland, CT.[7] No probate records were found for him in Connecticut. Mary (Andrews) (Stocking) Stocking died on 9 May 1825.[8]
