Photo
This George Gibson Andrews is NOT the William G Andrews also in New Zealand but born 1864, and whose photo is randomly copied across the web as Gib.
The photo originated from a MyHeritage erroneous Smart match between the two people, but was originally clearly labelled as William G Andrews

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Gib by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Kay, could you please be more specific as to what exactly does not satisfy you about the maternal confirmed by DNA?
It states which chromosome, the position and strength of the triangulated match and that it is between two third cousins descending from Gib, to the 3rd leg a descendant of his mother's sister, all with information as to their GEDmatch IDs which gives sufficient information for anyone versed in DNA to go and check the data for themselves. I have updated my leg of this to include my WikiTree link.
Isn't that what source citations of any sort are about?
Provide enough information for people to check them for themselves.
If it is the format of the information - feel free to change it, it is an open profile.
If we all have to go back and reformat every profile to whatever options are now available there'd hardly be a sourced profile on WikITree, let alone any DNA confirmed info.
The DNA friendliness of WikITree is one of the strengths I totally endorse and publicise.
I admit some of my earlier supporting statements may well not be sufficient but I cannot see anything wrong with this one so I look forward to your answer.
The DNA confirmaton statements on this page are still not sufficient to mark parental relationships 'confirmed with DNA'. I've changed them to 'confident'.
