There was a Daniel Dishman who was a son of Samuel DuChemin [1] who was a Huguenot that came into Virginia in the year 1700. He had a son by the name of Daniel Dishman was born in France in 1688 and, most likely, came into Manakintowne, although there is no information that he came to Virginia. His name isn't listed in the list of Huguenots, but I think that children weren't always listed as being immigrants. [2]
Daniel was a soldier in 1694, I assume in France. 27 Jun 1694 entry, "Procuration pour l'accord ci-dessus, par Daniel Duchemin, fils feu Samuel, bourgeois de Tinchebray, à présent soldat ; à Marie Duchemin, sa sœur.", which translates to "27 June 1694. Proxy for the above agreement, by Daniel Duchemin, son of the late Samuel, bourgeois Tinchebray, and now a soldier; and Marie Duchemin, his sister." [3]
