Biography
John was born about 1660. He was the only recorded son of John Andrews (d. c.1688) and his wife Alice Maunsell daughter of Thomas Maunsell of Derryvillane, County Cork and Aphra Crayford.
He married in 1682 Elizabeth Cole daughter of Sir Robert Cole, kt., of Ballymackey (Tipperary).
They had the following children:
- Robert Andrews (d. 1743)
- Maunsell Andrews (c.1690-1769)
- Thomas Andrews (died in the lifetime of his father)
- Anna Andrews (m. Unknown Allen)
- Mary Andrews (m. Unknown Allen)
- Elizabeth Andrews (m. James Johnston
- Rebecca Andrews (m. Unknown Cole)
- Aphra Andrews (m. Joseph Smith)
He inherited the Rathenny estate from his father in about 1688.
He died in 1732.
