Biography

Born before 20 Mar 1842 in Grove St, Southampton, Hampshire, England

"Our index of baptisms showed a baptism of a Ann Eliza Andrews, d. of James (engineer) and Lucy of Grove St, on 20 Mar 1842 at St Mary's parish."[1]

Annie ran away with George; she was married to John King. Both John King and George Tredger were Boilermakers, and lived close to one another.

Her family lived a few doors from the Workhouse, and not too far from the Hospital. It's likely these are the places that Anne developed her nursing skills.

"I checked the indexes of marriages, but could not find a marriage of a George Tee. However, there was a marriage of an Anne Eliza Andrews in 1864, Details were: John William King, 22, bach, boiler maker, Northam (father John King, bricklayer) married Anne Eliza Andrews, 22, spinster. Grove St (father James Andrews, blacksmith) at St Mary's parish, by banns on 4 Apr 1864. Witnesses were James Frederick Andrews and Amelia Hall."[2]
